Biography

Originally from Taiwan, rising star Apu Jan graduated from Royal Collect of Art with an MA in Fashion Womenswear/Knitwear and his brand, ApuJan, is now based in London.

Apu’s speciality lies in using knitting techniquesto construct unique shapes in his womenswear. His collections’ themes always combine history and fantasy, the real and the surreal. Apu blends traditional oriental elements with ultra-modern sensitivity and combines bold innovation with a touch of casualness. He uses simple yet imaginative patterns and graphics that are sophisticated but low-key. His unique approach reveals much about his cultural background and his clothes are a perfect unification of avant-gardewith commercial feasibility, making them both daring and wearable.
