Join us backstage and front-row at London Fashion Week Men’s for Band of Outsiders AW19, where International Artistic Director Dexter Johnson draws inspiration from the 60s and 70s to create soft textures with an effortless look.

What’s the inspiration behind the collection?

For Autumn/Winter 2019 Band of Outsiders’ Creative Director Angelo Van Mol looked at the moon landing as a pioneering event. But instead of focusing on the moon landing itself, Angelo turned to the people experiencing it while watching this happen in front of their living room TV’s. Inspired by Damian Chazelle’s recent movie First Man, as well as the 60s and 70s, his choice of colours and fabrics embodies it all; warm hues including spice orange, burgundy and olive brown are balanced with camel navy and black.

What’s the inspiration behind the hair?

Continuing Angelo’s exploration into 60s and 70s styles, International Artistic Director Dexter Johnson creates soft textures which are minimal and effortless.
