Marko Mitanovski

Biography

Marko Mitanovski is London based Serbian designer. He graduated from the College of Design in Belgrade in 2009. His work is recognizable for its sculptural and theatrical form, detailed construction and precise geometry. Marko Mitanovski is finding his inspiration in nature, birds, reptile’s skeletons, historical costumes and architecture. He was one of the chosen designers on competition for Ones to Watch show that was held at Fashion Scout, September 2009. Since than Marko’s designs have been showcased at Balenciaga Museum (Spain), Inside/Out exhibition SHOWstudio(London), Lady Gaga a Gogo exhibition(Paris), Pacha Club (Ibiza), Stylo Festival Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Zagreb Fashion Week(Croatia), Monterey Fashion Week (Mexico), No Limits Film Festival (UK), Fonlad Digital Art Festival (Portugal), , International fashion Week (Slovenia), Europe Future Fashion (Split), Selfridges (London), Vicious (Rome), Belgrade fashion week (Serbia).

Marko Mitanovski’s costumes were featured in leading international fashion publications such as Dazed, Vogue.co.uk, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Grazia, L'Officiel, Cosmopolitan, Vision, Time Out, Q magazine, Hello! magazine, Wonderland magazine, I-D magazine, The Star paper, La Republicca…

His designs have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Skunk Anansie, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Katie Melua , Paloma Faith, Cher Lloyd, Immodesty Blaize, Steve Strange(Visage), Little Mix, Bishi, Broken Hearts to name but a few.

Marko's work has also been published in international publications//books: "New on the Catwalk" (USA), "Fast Forward Fashion" (USA). These books are distributed in 70 countries. The book “The Secret Book On Lady Gaga”(France), that is about designers who collaborated with Lady Gaga, also published Marko Mitanovski’s design

For his last collection he collaborated with sculptor and jewelry designer and started experimenting with latex. The collection was successfully showcased in February 2015 with Fashion Scout.
