Tolu Coker London Fashion Week AW21

Tuesday 23rd February

The Hair & the Collection

Tolu Coker’s AW21 collection, ‘Soro Soke’ (translated to ‘Speak Up’ in English) looks to black, British culture of the late 60s, early 70s and forms the inspiration behind the collection. Inspired by the lived experiences of the designer’s late father, this collection bridges the cultural and generational gaps in dialogue between communities of young adults, who have fought not only for their freedom, but their existence and control of their own narratives. International Artistic Director, Efi Davies created a mix-match of intricate braiding and natural afro-texture.
