Tolu Coker London Fashion Week AW24

Friday 16th February 2024

The collection

Drawing inspiration from West Africa’s bustling markets, gridlocked streets and street hawkers. Tolu Cokers AW24 collection engages in critical conversation around migration, social equity and post-colonial economic landscapes. Commonly used amongst market traders in Nigeria to communicate and procure clients, Coker proposes ‘Broken-English’ as an evolved means of communication.

The hair

Drawing inspiration from the tailored waves of the 60s and 90s, International Artistic Director Efi Davies and the TONI&GUY Session Team, skillfully intertwined these influences into a finger-waved pixie hairstyle. This technique served to highlight the clean tailoring structures noticable in the collection, achieving a harmonious fusion of retro elegance and modern sophistication.
