The Hair
What’s the inspiration behind the hair?
Inspired by the theme of ‘racing for equality, ’ Efi Davies, International Artistic Director and TONI&GUY Session, aligned to the designer’s signature sportswear which celebrates pansexuality. Each of the male and female models had a unique and individual style created for them. Though each look was different – there was a uniting element throughout, where the colours of the pan-flag was reflected in ways such as - the polyphony of intricate multi-row braiding, intertwined with coloured wool yarn, as well as spraying hair with colour spray, as well as extravagant circular pink, blue and yellow head pieces.
The Collection
What’s the inspiration behind the collection?
DB BERDAN showcased their SS20 collection in collaboration with Smiley. Smiley was created in 1972 by French journalist Franklin Loufrani, who launched a happiness promotion in the France Soir newspaper, using the Smiley icon to highlight good news stories. Models sported their personalities with customized underground footwear, fans and sports gear, enhanced with Olympic rings and freehand drawn collection prints.
